DISTRICT PROBATION OFFICE

 BRIEF DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVE OF THE DEPARTMENT.

1. OFFENDERS PROBATION'S ACT 1958

        When a person commits an offence which is punishable less than sentence of death or life imprisonment than keeping in the view the nature, circumstance of offence, the character of offender, the court  may release him on a personal bond or on assurance for maintaining the good character. Surety bonds are produced in the court through the District Probation Officer from time to time. The rehabilitation of offender are made by D.P.O. after various investigations.

        The Court calls the reports about offender related to his age, social status family position, criminal history from District Probation Officer. District Magistrates bears the responsibility to provide the reports of offender to the State Govt. The reports are comprising of the offenders family problem, Medical Aid, Marriages of his sons and daughters and his agriculture position. District Probation Officer may also recommend the State Government through District Magistrate for the pre mature release of the offender on the ground of Mercy & these reports are also made available on Form-A/Nominal Role.

2. WIDOW PENSION

        The widows with minor children having the her Income under poverty line or less than Rs. 1000/- p.m. may be given a monthly pension of Rs. 125/- per month.

3.THE COUPLE AID FOR THE PERSONS WHO MARRY THE WIDOW

        An amount of Rs. 11,000/-  is provided as the couple Aid to person who marries a widow under 35 years for this aid, it is necessary to apply within one year of the marriage.

4. THE DOWRY AGGRIEVED LADIES WILL GET FINANCIAL OR LEGAL AID

        The aggrieved ladies who are living under poverty line will get Rs. 100/- per month as for the livelihood. Such type of women will also be given Rs. 1000/- for court pursuance. Aid will be given at one time.

5. THE FEMALE CHILD WELFARE SCHEME

        When a female child is born in a family living under the poverty line will be given aid Rs. 500/- for Nourishing food. This aid is only for the mothers having 2 female children. For school going female children,a scholarship will also be given to the school.

 6. SCHOLARSHIP OF WOMEN OF GENERAL CATEGORY WHO ACQUIRE P.T. &   T.E. (POLYTECHNIC & TECHNICAL EDUCATION).

        For the girls of General Category who are going to acquire I.T.I. Diploma, Polytechnic, M.B.A. Medical Engg., Rs. 50/- to Rs. 425/- will be given as scholarship.

7. JUVENILE JUSTICE ACT: 1986

        Non delinquent/delinquent adolescents in the age group of 7 to 16 years are eligible to reside in Govt. Observation home.

8. DOWRY PROHIBITION ACT 1961

        An investigation will be made by District Dowry Prohibition Officer, when any person or family lodges a complaint against dowry torture and investigation report will be sent to the concerning court.
