NAGAR PALIKA PARISHAD, NAGINA

In British India “Nagina” was a town owned by Nawabs belonging to Lakhanhai Muslim. “Nagina” is a major Muslim feudatory of Aligarh (UP). In British India “Nagina” was represented by the Old and Young Party in the UP Legislative Council from 1909 to 1919.

As of 2011 India census, Nagina had a population of 20,672. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Nagina has an average literacy rate of 48%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 57%, and female literacy is 38%. In Nagina, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.
